My husband and I started Quarry House Kennels in 1978 breeding and
training registered Border Collies and Welsh Corgis. Our goal and the very
foundation of our kennel has been built around creating appreciation of
the Border Collie, Welch Corgi and other herding breeds. Even today we
keep working on our goal and are doing this in a number of ways. Bill goes
to sheep and cattle trials with our Border Collies and has competed twice
at the National Sheep Dog Championship along with many other local, state
and regional trials. In addition, Bill with our dogs and sheep have
provided hours of entertainment by giving herding demonstrations at fairs,
festivals and other outdoor events as "Stockdogs In Action". We
have appeared at the California State Fair, the Orange County Fair, the
Sacramento Valley Scottish Games and Gathering, the Houston Livestock Show
and others. If you have not had the opportunity to watch our Border
Collies and Corgis in action be sure to check your TV Guide for the PBS
television series "California Heartland" as they regularly
appear in the segments pertaining to rural life and ranching.
So others with herding/working dogs may enjoy training and working with their dogs we conduct clinics and training classes at ranches through out the Western United States. If you or your organization are interested in putting on a clinic or attending training classes please contact us by dropping by our site stockdogsaction.com, email or phone. In addition, while you are there, be sure to check out our additional resources that include books, videos and training aids.
