Home Our Dogs   Working/Herding Dogs   Esther Ekman's ACD Legacy Contact

Welcome to Lassic Kennels.

I'm Amy Berry and have been owned by Australian Cattle Dogs since 1965. My husband Ray Middleton and I live on retirement sized ranch acreage in JoshuaTree, Ca. No longer involved in active farming and ranching I just keep a small flock of sheep for stockdog training.

In 1968 I was one of the five who started ACDCA and the purebred registry in the U.S. Our registry was accepted by the AKC in 1980. Over the years I've held various offices in the organization. I've also done purebred ACD rescue since the 60s and handled the incorporation of ACDRI with the help of our club attorney. I'm also a member of IEHDA, a local all breed herding club and TCASWA, a southern California Australian Shepherd herding club.

I do some conformation showing, have dabbled in obedience, but working dogs on stock is my love and what I've done most of my life. Now I compete in herding trials under the many different venues. I've finished both conformation and herding champions, and have some young dogs coming up. I know first hand what ACDs are capable of doing and I don't want to see that heritage lost.

If you have inquiries or questions I can be reached at lassic@telis.org
